The Center for Northern Woodlands Education (Northern Woodlands) intends to archive reader photos on its website, and may use these images for other purposes in the future. To that end, we want to be clear to anyone submitting photos and information to this site that our nonprofit may use this content in other ways down the road, without notifying you or seeking further permission. Please read these terms carefully.
Northern Woodlands considers any content that you submit to the Reader Photo Gallery to be available and authorized for publication by Northern Woodlands. You should understand that by submitting content to Northern Woodlands, you are indicating both that you: (a) own the rights in the content, or that you otherwise have the right to authorize Northern Woodlands to use the content; and (b) believe any information you have submitted is accurate. As a result, when you submit content, you should be sure that you actually have the right to authorize Northern Woodlands to use the content. For example, if a friend forwards a photo to you, that you then want to share with Northern Woodlands, you do not have the right to authorize its use and should not submit it.
When you submit content to Reader Photo Gallery, you are not giving up your ownership of the rights, including the copyright. However, you are granting Northern Woodlands a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, copy, modify, create derivative works of, distribute, display, perform, archive and store, the content that you have submitted, for any purpose, in any form, media, or technology of any kind now existing or developed in the future for the full term of any rights that may exist in the content.
The bottom line is that under this license, you have no further right to control how Northern Woodlands uses the content you have provided. And, you have agreed to give this license to Northern Woodlands for zero compensation.
If you do not wish to convey this license to the Northern Woodlands, then you should not submit the content.
